WordPress to Next.js migration

Done paying for plugins just to change a page? Move off WordPress.

We move your pages, posts, media and forms off WordPress into Next.js, redirect every old permalink, and hand your team a site it changes by asking an AI coding agent.

4.9 star Google rating for D'Marketing Agency4.9 from 79 Google reviews. SME500 Singapore award winner, 2023. 20 years in digital marketing.

Will your team be able to edit the site without WordPress?

Yes, and nobody has plugins to update. The code sits in a repository with your brand rules, the agent’s instructions and checks that run before anything goes live. Your team asks Claude Code, Codex or Cursor for a change in plain words, looks at the result, and publishes it once the checks pass.

Every public page arrives as plain HTML, with structured data, a sitemap and an llms.txt file, so AI tools and search engines can read the site and quote it. That’s what makes it an agentic website. Your forms send each lead’s campaign source with it, so you can see which campaign brought the enquiry.

You keep your content, data and accounts, so if you ever move on, you take them with you. Want the same team on search after launch? Our SEO plans start from S$600 a month, and website maintenance from S$100 a month.

We moved our own site off WordPress: 767 pages, 1,011 redirects

Our site, digitalmarketingagency.sg, ran on WordPress with Elementor. Now it’s a static site that Vercel serves from a GitHub repository. We checked that repository on 6 November 2026:

  • 767 pages in its sitemap
  • 1,011 redirects, each sending an old address to its new page
  • 369 of the 370 changes in the 30 days to 6 November were made with an AI coding agent, Claude Code
  • A check runs before every push: titles, headings, canonicals, forms, redirects and a list of false claims. If it fails, the push stops and nothing goes live.
  • Its llms.txt file is live at /llms.txt and describes the site for AI tools

On 28 October 2026 we were first on Google Singapore for “digital marketing agency”. Rankings move, so we print the date we checked.

A WordPress move can break the pages that bring you leads

The posts arrive. The design stays behind.

Your layouts come from the theme, its blocks and the page builder’s settings. Copying the text across leaves all of that on the old site.

Custom content has nowhere to go

Custom post types, ACF fields and taxonomies need a place in the new site. Without one, those pages quietly disappear.

The form shows. The plugin’s job is gone.

The plugin that emailed your team, blocked spam and fed the CRM didn’t come across. The form still shows, and the leads go nowhere.

Old permalinks open error pages

Every post, archive, category and tag page that changes address needs a redirect, or Google and your old links hit a dead end.

Will the move keep your posts, forms and permalinks?

Yes. We list each part of your WordPress site before the build starts and give it a home in the new one.

Pages, posts and archives

Every public page, post, category, tag and author page, plus the drafts you still want and the layout behind each kind of page.

Theme and page builder

We rebuild your Gutenberg blocks or Elementor sections, header, footer, type and spacing as parts the whole site reuses.

Custom post types and fields

Custom post types, ACF fields, taxonomies and the links between them each get a place in the new site’s content.

Media library

We keep the files your pages use, with their filenames, captions and alt text, so no page still loads images from WordPress.

Plugins

We write down the job each active plugin does. Forms, search and redirects each get a plan, and a shop or member area is scoped in the free site audit.

Permalinks and SEO fields

We keep the permalinks that bring traffic, carry over your SEO plugin’s titles and descriptions, add redirects, and check canonicals, structured data, robots rules and the sitemap.

What you check at each step, before WordPress is switched off

List what exists

We crawl the live site, export the content, note the theme or page builder, list custom content types and write down what each plugin does, then send you the list.

Plan where the content lives

Your pages and posts can move into the new site, or WordPress can stay as the place you write, an option we talk through in the audit. Forms, search and redirects get a new home too.

Rebuild two pages first

We rebuild your homepage and one busy content page, like a post or an archive. You check the design, the phone view and the links before we go further.

Move the rest

We apply the approved parts to every other page, move the content and media, reconnect the forms, and add titles and redirects for each page.

Go live and watch

We test pages, forms, search, redirects, canonicals, robots rules and the sitemap. Then your domain points at the new site, and we watch traffic and enquiries.

What happens to your rankings, your forms and your edits

Is this an automatic WordPress to Next.js converter?
No. Our team works with an AI coding agent. It records your site and exports, we map your content and plugins, and we rebuild sample pages and compare them with the live site before the rest moves, with a person checking each step.
Can I keep WordPress for writing posts?
It’s an option we talk through in the free site audit: WordPress stays where you write, and Next.js shows the pages. The other way is to move the content into the new site, where your AI coding agent can change it along with everything else.
What does WordPress’s own export include?
The export under Tools gives you an XML file with your posts, pages, custom post types, custom fields, categories, tags and menus. It doesn’t carry the design, the theme or what your plugins do, so those get their own plan.
What happens to my Gutenberg or Elementor layouts?
We rebuild them from your published pages as reusable Next.js parts. Gutenberg keeps its blocks inside each post, while Elementor adds its own layouts and settings, so we check a few sample pages before converting the rest.
What happens to custom post types and ACF fields?
We map each one: the post type, its fields, its categories, its links to other content, its archive pages and its public addresses. Every page keeps its content, and its address or a redirect to the new one.
Will moving from WordPress hurt my SEO?
Rankings can move for a while after any move, as Google processes the change. We keep the permalinks that bring traffic, add a permanent redirect for each one that changes, carry over titles and descriptions, update internal links, keep structured data, and watch Search Console after launch.
What happens to my plugins and forms?
We list the job each plugin does. Each form gets a place to send its leads, with the campaign source attached, and search gets a new index. A shop, member area or comments are scoped in the free site audit.
How much does a WordPress migration cost?
It depends on the pages, the content and the services your site uses, so we quote after the free site audit instead of publishing a price.
