Google Business Profile optimisation in Singapore
Nearby customers can’t pick you if they can’t find you on the map
Google Business Profile optimisation from a Singapore team: a complete, active profile, real reviews, and a monthly count of the calls it brings.
Why your profile isn’t showing up on the map
When we audit a Google Business Profile in Singapore, it’s usually one of these.
It was set up once and left
Hours from before the renovation, photos from opening day, no posts this year. To customers, that looks like a business that might be closed.
The category is a near miss
Your primary category tells Google which searches you match. Pick one that’s close but wrong, and you can miss your main search entirely.
The reviews stopped coming
A competitor down the road has twice your reviews, and newer ones. People choose them before they’ve read a word about you.

What we fix on your profile
Every field Google reads, filled in properly and kept current.
- Claiming and verifying the profile, in your name
- The right primary category and secondary categories for what you actually sell
- Business information: name, address, contact details, website URL and booking links, matched to your website
- Business hours, plus special hours for public holidays
- Products and services, with descriptions and prices where they help
- Attributes, such as wheelchair access, parking or payment options
- A compelling business description that says what you do and where, in plain words
- High-quality photos of the shopfront, the inside, your team and your work
- Google Posts for offers, events and news, so the profile stays active
- The Q&A section answered, and messages if you turn them on
- Customer reviews: help asking customers to leave them, and a reply to every one, negative ones included
- Citations: the same name, address and phone across Singapore directories
More reviews, more recent, and a reply to every one
Google looks at how many reviews you have, how recent they are, your rating and how you respond to reviews. People look at the same things before they call, and a long run of recent, answered reviews is what builds trust with a stranger.
We help you ask every happy customer for a genuine review. We can watch for new reviews and reply on your behalf, and we answer the bad ones calmly, so the next reader sees a business that listens. We never buy or write fake reviews. Google removes them, and the profile can be suspended.
Suspended or stuck at verification? We’ll help you get it back
Suspensions usually come from guideline problems, such as a business name stuffed with keywords or details that don’t match across the web. We find the cause, fix it and work through Google’s reinstatement process with you.
If the profile is stuck at verification, we help you claim and verify it, so it ends up in your name.
From audit to an active profile, step by step
Profile audit
We compare your profile with the three businesses above you on the map, field by field.
Access and verification
We make sure the profile is verified and owned by you, with us as a manager.
Fix every field
Categories, services, hours, attributes, description and photos, done properly.
Match your details everywhere
Your name, address and phone made consistent on your website and in directories.
Keep it active
Regular posts, new photos, answers to questions, and replies to every review.
Report
Calls, website clicks, direction requests and map positions, every month.
Some fixes show within weeks. Reviews take months.
Weeks 1 to 4
The profile is completed and the categories fixed. These are the changes that can lift your visibility soonest.
Months 2 and 3
Citations cleaned up, regular posts going out, and new reviews starting to come in.
Months 4 to 6
Reviews and activity build up, and your map position for harder searches starts to move.
See how many people call, click and ask for directions
Your profile records what people do on it: calls, website clicks, direction requests and messages. Each month we put those numbers next to your map positions in one short report, and a specialist walks you through it.
You can see which changes brought more calls, and whether the profile is paying for itself.
The profile is free. Keeping it working takes time.
Google doesn’t charge for a Business Profile. The cost is the hours: posts, photos, review replies, citations and the website work behind it. Our profile work comes inside our local SEO plans, from $700 to $2,400 a month on a 12-month plan, which also cover your website. The free audit comes first, so the quote matches what your profile needs.
What is a Google Business Profile?
A Google Business Profile is your free listing on Google Search and Google Maps. It’s the panel that shows your name, rating, hours, phone number, photos and directions when someone searches for you, and the pin that shows up when they search for what you sell nearby.
Google sums it up as "Stand out on Google with a free Business Profile". Google Business Profile, formerly Google My Business (GMB), is the same business listing under a new name, and plenty of people still call it GMB.
Google Business Profile optimisation is the work of filling in every part of that listing properly and keeping it active. An optimised Google Business Profile shows up in more local search results, and more of the people who see it call, visit or book.
Why your profile matters for a business in Singapore
When people in Singapore use Google to find a clinic, a cafe or a plumber, the map is often the first thing they see. Your profile is how local customers find you there, and for many potential customers it’s the whole of your online presence: they read the reviews, check the hours, and tap call.
That makes the profile the cheapest local visibility you can get. You don’t pay per click, the way you do with Google Ads, and the same details show up across Google, in Search, in Maps and in AI answers.
It also supports your other SEO efforts. Consistent business information, real customer engagement on the profile, and a clear call to action (call, book or get directions) all add to your online visibility, and so does linking the profile from your website and social media.
What a complete profile includes, and why each part matters
| Part of the profile | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Primary category | Your business category tells Google your business type and which searches you match. |
| Secondary categories | Lets you show up for the other things you do. |
| Name, address and phone (NAP) | Must match your website and directories, or Google trusts the details less. |
| Hours and special hours | Wrong hours lose customers who turn up to a closed door, and bring bad reviews. |
| Services and products | Shows people exactly what you sell, and gives Google more to match against. |
| Photos | People look at photos before they decide to visit or call. |
| Posts and offers | Keep the profile looking active, and put promotions in front of searchers. |
| Reviews and replies | Count towards your ranking, and are what most people read first. |
| Questions and answers | Answer common questions before people have to call. |
Google Business Profile or your website?
You need both. They do different jobs.
| Google Business Profile | Your website | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it shows | Google Maps and the local panel in Search | Google’s ordinary results, and anywhere you share the link |
| What people do there | Call, get directions, read reviews, check hours | Read about your services, compare, enquire or buy |
| Who controls it | You, inside Google’s rules and layout | You, completely |
| Cost | Free | Hosting, domain and upkeep |
| How they help each other | The profile links to your site | Location pages and schema back up the profile |
How to set up a Google Business Profile
If you’re starting from nothing, this is the order to do it in.
Check it doesn’t already exist
Search your business name on Google Maps. A customer or Google may have created a listing you can claim.
Create or claim it
Sign in at Google Business Profile with a company Google account. A staff member’s personal account leaves when they do.
Pick your category
Choose the primary category that matches your main service, then add secondary ones.
Add your location or service area
Show your address if customers visit you. Hide it and list your areas if you go to them.
Verify
In the verification process, Google decides which verification methods you’re offered, such as a phone call, email or a short video of your premises.
Fill in everything else
Hours, services, products, attributes, description and photos, then post your first update.

| Best for | A single outlet in a quiet category | Most businesses, and anyone in a crowded category |
| With us | Included in every local SEO plan | From $700 a month |
A strong profile pointing to a weak website leaves rankings on the table, which is why our profile work sits inside our local SEO plans. See local SEO.

Common Google Business Profile mistakes
- Keywords stuffed into the business name, which breaks Google’s rules and can get the profile suspended
- A primary category that’s close but wrong
- Hours that weren’t updated for public holidays
- A different phone number or address on the website and in directories
- Old photos, or none at all
- Bad reviews left without a reply
- The profile owned by a former employee or an old agency
- Buying reviews, which Google removes and can punish
How to choose someone to manage your profile
- Ask whose name the profile will be in. It should be yours, with them as a manager.
- Ask whether they report calls and direction requests, or only rankings.
- Ask how they get reviews. Buying them is a no.
- Ask whether they also work on your website, citations and location pages.
- Walk away from anyone who guarantees a top-three spot on the map.
Google Business Profile terms, in plain English
- Map pack (or local pack): the three businesses Google shows on a map for a local search
- Primary category: the one category that best describes your business
- NAP: your name, address and phone number, the contact information that should match everywhere
- Citation: a mention of your NAP on another site, such as a directory
- Service-area business: one that goes to customers and hides its address
- Verification: Google checking that you really run the business at that location
- Profile performance: Google’s own numbers for calls, clicks and direction requests
