llms.txt done for you, from the pages that matter

Show AI tools what your site is about, in one file

We write your site’s llms.txt file, point it at the pages that matter, and keep it current as pages are added. It works best on pages AI tools can already read, so we check those too.

4.9 star Google rating for D'Marketing Agency4.9 from 79 Google reviews. SME500 Singapore award winner, 2023. 20 years in digital marketing.

The file goes stale the week after launch

A generator gets you a file. Three things decide whether it’s any use.

Nobody updates it

New services, changed addresses and retired pages never reach the file, so AI tools get an old picture of your site.

It lists everything, or the wrong things

Generators read your sitemap and list pages. The file is meant to pick the pages that explain your business, with a note on each.

The links lead to pages AI can’t read

If a page loads its words with scripts, a tidy link to it doesn’t help much. The page has to carry its answer in the HTML.

What an llms.txt file actually does for AI tools

llms.txt is a plain Markdown file at yourdomain.com/llms.txt. It gives AI tools a short summary of your site and links to the pages worth reading, each with a note. The name comes from LLMs, the large language models behind tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Jeremy Howard published the format as a proposal at llmstxt.org in September 2024.

A proposal isn’t a standard any search engine has to follow. Google’s own guide says you don’t need AI text files to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. So we treat llms.txt as a cheap, tidy summary for the AI tools that do read it. The bigger job is pages that search engines and AI tools can read anyway.

What we put in your llms.txt

Who you are

Your business name, then a short summary of what you sell, who to and where.

When to use you

A few lines on the problems you solve, and who you’re not a fit for, so AI tools don’t send you the wrong enquiries.

Your main pages, with notes

Services, prices, guides and contact pages, grouped under headings, each with a one-line note on what it covers.

The rest, marked optional

Pages an AI tool can skip when it’s short of room go under Optional, the heading the format sets aside for them.

Read our own llms.txt before you decide

Ours is at digitalmarketingagency.sg/llms.txt. It opens with one paragraph on who we are, a list of when to use us and a line on who we’re not a fit for. Then come our AI systems, software, services and guides, each a link with a note.

A script rebuilds the product lists from the site’s menu and live prices. A test fails the push when a link in the file is dead or a price differs. We checked all of this in the site’s repository on 6 November 2026.

Your llms.txt, sitemap and pages, updated together

One repository

The llms.txt file, the sitemap, the structured data and the pages live in the same code and change in the same review.

Updated by your AI agent

The agent’s instructions tell it to add a new page to llms.txt when the page belongs there. Your team reviews the change before it goes live.

Checked before launch

Checks run before anything goes live. On our own site, one stops the push when a link in llms.txt is dead.

From no llms.txt to a file you can check, in three steps

Get your free site audit. We look at the pages your llms.txt would point to, and whether AI tools can read them.

We write the summary, pick the pages and add a note to each. You read the file and tell us what’s missing.

It goes live at /llms.txt and changes with your pages from then on. You can open it in any browser to check.

Our own 767-page site runs this way

We moved our own site, digitalmarketingagency.sg, off WordPress (Elementor). It’s now a static site that Vercel serves from a GitHub repository. Its sitemap lists 767 pages, and 1,011 redirects send old addresses to their new pages.

In the 30 days to 6 November 2026, 369 of its 370 changes were made with Claude Code, an AI coding agent. A check runs before every push: titles, headings, canonicals, forms, redirects and a list of false claims. When it fails, the push stops and nothing goes live.

llms.txt questions

What is an llms.txt file?
A Markdown file at the root of your site, /llms.txt. It holds your site’s name, a short summary and links to your most useful pages, each with a note. The format is a proposal published at llmstxt.org.
Will llms.txt get my business into ChatGPT answers?
Nobody can promise that. It’s a proposal that AI tools may or may not read. Whether your pages are readable, useful and open to crawlers matters more. OpenAI’s crawler docs say a site can appear in ChatGPT search results when robots.txt allows its OAI-SearchBot.
Does Google use llms.txt?
Google’s guide to its AI features says you don’t need to create AI text files to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. Normal SEO basics apply there.
How is llms.txt different from robots.txt and a sitemap?
robots.txt says which crawlers, AI crawlers included, may visit which pages. A sitemap lists every public address for search engines. llms.txt picks the pages worth reading and says what each one covers. It doesn’t block or allow any crawler.
Why not use a free llms.txt generator?
A generator gives you a first draft from your sitemap. It doesn’t know which pages matter to your buyers, and it won’t update the file when the site changes. It can’t fix pages AI tools can’t read either.
How do I create an llms.txt file?
Write a Markdown file with your site’s name as the H1 heading and a short summary in a quote block. Then add H2 sections that list your pages as links, each with a one-line note. Save it as llms.txt at the root of your site, or send us your site and we’ll write it.
Where does the file go?
At the root of your domain, the same place as robots.txt, so it opens at yourdomain.com/llms.txt. In a Next.js site it can be a static file, or built from the site’s own list of pages, the way ours is.
Can you add llms.txt to my current site?
If your site is already in code, yes, as a scoped job, with structured data, lead source capture and pre-launch checks if you want them. On WordPress, Webflow, Framer or Lovable, we set it up as part of a move to Next.js.
How much does it cost?
It’s quoted after the free site audit. For help with AI search beyond the file, see AI SEO.
